Spitfire Spitfire top install mk1 or mk2

I just got a new top for a mk1/mk2 spitfire and I see that the top doesn't have any of the snaps installed and not sure if there is any special to installing the top for a mk1. Does anyone have any step by step instructions or has taken pictures.

I have the old top but I am not sure I always had the elastic strap installed correctly. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hopefully you have the various front and rear metal reinforcement bars; they're the most critical part to making the top fit. There are only a few snaps around the rear tonneau area; just start closest to center and work your way out, alternating between sides.

I can't help at the moment with the elastic strap, but a copy of the Owner's Handbook will show step-by-step how the top is erected, including that strap.

I do have the old top. But the advice you talk about helps. I don't have an owners manual so that is why I am not sure about the inside setup. Thanks again.
