From a previous post regarding a J type overdrive in my Spitfire.... The solenoid seems to not respond to power. A wire directly to the input of the solenoid produces no noise or any other action. Anyone know the wrench necessary to remove the overdrive solenoid? The nut appears to be thin, brass, and maybe 11/16? Part two is can the solenoid be removed without moving the transmission?

Should be same as my Stags, which take an extra-thin 1" wrench to remove the solenoid. I started with a cheap open end wrench, then milled both sides of the head to get it thin enough, and cut the handle so it was short enough to swing in the available space.

Yep, many tools have been modified for special purposes. I had to mark them for what they were used for, can't remember sometimes as you don't use them as much.
