have removed gearbox from inside car to replace clutch...have been told to replace rear engine oil seal while gearbox is out....can this be done with engine still in car...any tips/tricks for getting this done?

Yes it can. The seal is enclosed in it own housing that is bolted to the crankcase. It is a relatively easy job. Check the crankshaft for wear in the area that the seal rides.

Forgot! You have to remove the flywheel also. What can I say. I tired. Sorry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
