Spitfire Spitfire MK2 calipers

I was wondering if anyone has put new MK3 calipers on their MK2. I have been having some real trouble finding a cheaper set of calipers that originally came on the car, but there are MK3 calipers that can be had for about $40 online. Anyone had any trouble switching out these?

It should work. The vertical link is the same on the mk2 and mk1 after this number from what I can see from a web site. Here is what it says.

VERTICAL LINK LH MK1SPIT from FC15,576 and all MK2-MK3 SPIT

I've had a couple of Spits, from a 63 to my wife's 80 1500 and I interchange brake calipers, have a few sets in storage, all the time. Sometimes you'll need to shim the caliper to keep the disk centered, depends on the disk. Just have an assortment of washers ready, different thicknesses, and slip them in between the upright and the caliper (around the mounting bolt).

If you want to keep the car original I would contact Scott Harper over at Team Triumph. He should have a set. Or as everyone else has said the calipers are interchangeable between Spitfire models, so you have choices.
