Spitfire Spitfire Mk1 Steering Rack - can there be stops?

I'm going to be running 5.5" rims with wide - wide - oh yeah - wide - tires and seeing as this is much more that the skinny push bike rims it normally has I will end up scuffing the tires against something when it's on full lock.

Has anyone come up with a plan / method of providing rack stops to limit the travel of the rack? I figured that I could make something somewhere that has an adjustable arm (bolt on the end of something with a lock nut) that pressed against somewhere on the vertical link as it neared the point of fouling the tires.

There must be something I can do about it.
