WOrking on my seats today, got the driver seat done and decided for an around the hood run. Dang heater blower motor is stuck on. Ideas? 1980 Spitfire.

Here's a wiring diagram that is reported to work for an 80 spitfire: diagram

Looks like it is hot to the blower motor, then grounds through the switch. Either switch is bad, or more likely you have a short somewhere between the motor and the switch which is grounding things out and causing the motor to run.

Look for a washer, bolt, key or some sort of metalic object to have wound up on the top of the heater slide. maybe somebody thought they needed to put a quarter in it for more time

Only way I know of to check it closely is to pull that center panel, somewhat of a PITA but doable, or get your air hose in there in the slot for the slide, and let 'r rip.

Let us know what you find.

Well I know what my weekend project will be, thanks for the responses.

I'd also suggest putting in an inline 10amp fuse on the heater circuit.Incidently ALOT of amps go through that headlight switch.Putting fuses in WILL stop a fire.(or a circuit breaker)as i have.
