Spitfire Spit for sale

I have talked about the local Orange Spit that was near my work but I noticed it was missing the last few days. Today driving to Cranberry I spotted it sitting along the road looking for some love. Even though I have seen the car every summer for the past 4 years, I do not know the owner. It looks pretty sweet, nice hard top. Some tape on the interior.

I took pics and will try to load them tomorrow

Looking at the pics do not do it justice, there are a few bubble spots on the paint, and I am not sure I beleive the 40mpg he is advertising on the windshield either

I helped a little on this car several years ago. Good guy. Got married a few years ago. I was surprised to see his pride and joy up for sale.
The car, as I remember it is very solid.

I beleive it is a little high price wise but he claims to have $12000 in it. It sure looks solid but there are a few bubbling spots and some tape on the interior. I would drive it if the price came down a little.

I can't remember clearly but I believe he put quite a bit into the drive train. I was helping him sort some electrical issues...go figure. The motor had just gone back into the car and the interior was out of it.
It is sitting at his folks place where you saw it.

I just bought an orange 79 in June, looks very close to this one. Sans the hard top and Mini-lites. Love the darn thing, just a couple spots on the bonnet, underside is completely clean. Per the advice of my brother, buy it and have some fun, if after a year it's not what you want, put it back on the market. After a couple of months with mine and a nice trip to mid-Ohio, I have no desire to let her go. I'm in NE Ohio, do you guys belong to a club near our respective areas.

I belonged to the WPTA for awhile, they were not big on wedges but were great guys. There are a few clubs out in central pa and in DC where I spend some time that seem really active. Mostly I stick with the club formerly known as the TR8CCA

I'm in WPTA, which stands for Western PA Triumph Assoc. A lot of the core members are TR3 and 4 folks, though we are slowly growing in numbers of wedges.
The owner of this Spitfire has also been a member.

Overdrive, hardtop, minilites... and does that say 35,000 mi.?!? (since rebuild, maybe?)

I'd say the price was bang on, as long as the body isn't really rotten underneath.

I want to say that is original miles. I think he had the engine out a few years ago, but it hasn't gone 35k since.
I saw the car with the interior out and it was very solid.
