Spin-on Oil Filter Adapter

Hello,

I plan to install a spin-on oil filter adapter on my 74 TR6. It comes with an o ring to install between the adapter and the engine. What would you suggest lubricating the o ring with? I would think something that will last and not deteriorate the o ring. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Once I'm sure there isn't any part of the old O-ring still in the engine block, I smear some sticky grease in the groove.
I do that so the new O-ring will stay in place in the groove while the adapter is being installed and positioned at an angle favorable to the clutch slave cylinder.
