TR4/4A Spinners for bolt on minilite wheels

I have a set of John Brown bolt on Minilite wheels and would like to mount spinners on them.

I've seen two types:

1- bolt on the outside of the wheel. Not my preference.

2- use an adaptor that inserts through the back of the wheel, and the spinner then attaches to the adaptor. CWA make the latter (see link). https://customwheelaccessories.com/...knock-off-spinners/thread-mount-spinners.html
The manufacturer of the wheels, John Brown, suggested CWA but the OD of their spinner adaptor (2.44") is larger than the ID of the hole on my wheels (2.362" / 6cm) making it too big.

I much prefer the style that CWA makes as they look as if they are part of the wheel rather than an obvious bolt on. One thought was to mill down the adaptor, but this might make the wall of the adaptor too thin, and make it too small to attach to the spinner.

Q: Has anyone used CWA spinners or got recommendations of a brand that would work on my wheels?
