Just thought that I would drop this in.
Just bought a brand new set of spinners ( they are 4 years old but still in their original wrappers) for slightly less than half price, a guy was selling them off to clear his garage. :wink-new:
They are the 12TPI variety to suit my BJ7 and they looked great.
Tried them for fit and - they don't :distress:
Double checked the thread pitch and that was fine :chuncky:
Checked out the root dimension with my trusty vernier gauge and compared it with my old units there is a 0.58 mm difference.
Talked to my Healey Guru and discovered that there was a batch made that would not fit, the vendor will take them back but before I return them I have been trying to find a firm to open up the threads as it seems to be a terrific waste but can not find anyone interested.
I have however found an engineering firm that makes them along with other items such as brake drums and they are cheaper than those available from the usual Healey Suspects ( suppliers) so I suppose I have gained something from this exercise.
Just wondering if any of you guys have had similar experiences in the past.
