Spin On Oil Filter

I have a 1961 MG A. I Replaced the factory oil filter Assy with a Spin on type. I normally order the filter elements from Moss. However I would like to know if there is a Purolator or Fram equivalent that I can get locally. Thanks

My 77 MGB takes a FRAM PH8, which is your generic Ford Oil filter.. It will also take a PH43, which is a shorty Dodge/Chrysler filter. That the stock match up.. Can't be sure about your conversion though.

I'd buy one at Kragen, and match up the sealing ring, and see if it threads on.. then you are good to go!

Pertuso, Get on the computer and you may be able to match what ever filter you have with filters in stock at your local stores.---Fwiw---Keoke

I also like the Mobil 1 filter, and have little trouble getting it locally.

HI MattP, I agree but we are not in Puerto Rico like Pertuso and I do not know what services are available there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks a lot folks for your quick reply. I took Keoke's advise and went to the Fram web page. I have a Part No for a filter that will fit the 61 MG A. Keoke we have Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Western Auto.... (they have a new name now, I forget). Sears Auto Store and many more. Again thanks and good motoring.
