Just put in a big order with Tony for a whole passel of bits for the Tunebug. Boy, do all those little pieces add up. Some misc. trim bits, radiator hoses, fuel gauge sender and bits, rear hub bits -- basically lots of bits. Some of this stuff I've had on my list since I bought the car. It was a good winter for gigs, so I've got a (little bitty) budget to play with for these running fixes.

Had a nice conversation with Hap today, and a plan is forming for the 1275/5-speed rebuild. Hope the summer is busy for playing; I've got some money to get saved up. I'm not looking for a wild motor, but I want to do it right the first time. Hopefully I can get enough saved up before next winter to be able to dive in and get it all done.

Parts and time, Laddie... parts an' time.

We'll all be sittn' here kibbizin' as ya knob thru it! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I've been paying things off all winter, so it's nice to be ahead of the game for a little while--won't last, but it's nice while it does. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Two steps forward, one step back...at least it's progress, hehe!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

whenever i put in a big order (or any order for that matter), i always try to also add one additional item that is more in the "accessory" category. that way i get the parts i need to do the dirty work but also have something to look forward to on the clean side. kind of an incentive.

I was tempted to add a nice new tonneau cover to the order, but I'm trying very hard to stay focused on my plan. That 1275/5-speed is sitting there, waiting for time/money/knowledge. It's a good motivator. I'm working on writing up the plan right now, so I've got that goal to keep me going.

Do you have the rivergate kit?

I don't have a kit chosen yet at all. Based on assorted experience here I'm leaning towards the Morris Service kit, but no decision quite yet. That's the next big expense on the horizon.
