TR6 Speedometer recalibration ?? TR6

I need to get my speedo recalibrated because of my Toyota Trans Conversion, who does recalibration on the TR6 speedo? should any speedo shop be able to do it?, what about TRF. ?

I don't know of anyone that will try to change the calibration of the head, only restore it to original. Otherwise they'd have to change the gears for the odometer, too.

Sounds like what you need is a ratio adapter, which should be available at any speedo shop.

Nisonger will "recalibrate" your speedo. There is a formula that requires your pushing the vehicle so many feet down the road with a flag taped to your cable and counting the revolutions. Someone will pipe up with the process. It works. I did it. Nisonger made it work.

Did you get the trans conversion kit from Hermann (HVDA)?? He has instructions in the back of his booklet on determining how far the ratio is off, and what to tell the speedo repair shop when being recalibrated. With that info, you might call Nisonger in NY and find out if they can correct it by changing gears inside. If you need the info on figuring out how to determine the number of turns per mile, PM me, and I'll give you the info from Hermann's instruction manual. It's fairly easy, but will take alot of typing, and I'm heading out right now.

APT will probably do it. Just sent off my tach to have it electrified. can't find their web sit. It is something like gaugeguys.com or something.

Thanks for all the info.----my speedometer reads 53 mph when I am doing 60, it seems like they should be able to recalibrate using just this info. Gauge Guys have correction adapters to plug into the trans., that might be the way to go.
