TR2/3/3A Speedometer light Anomaly?

I'm doing the wiring on the TR3 and found that the "light bulb attachment" to the speedometer will not go far enough into its hole as the bulb bumps up against the inside? I may have installed a 4/4a speedometer many years ago. Anyone know if the 4/4a speedometer is different from the 3A speedometer in terms of the light bulb size and wiring connector?

The units on my TR3 and TR4 are identical inn that regard. Are you using a typical bulb (glass is an orb, not elongated).

I agree with George about them being the same bulb size. Sounds like you have the wrong bulb.

The 4A has only one bulb for the bulb for the speedo light. I think they went with the type of socket and bulb you see on the high beam warning light on the TR3 for the 4A? Anyone know the size of the high beam warning light bulbfor the TR3...it appears to have only one nub on the side to hold the bulb in instead of the usual staggered two nubs.

If I remember correct, when I bought a wiring harness from that British wiring place I had a similar problem with high beam light. I had to use the bulb socket from the original harness. They said they would mail the correct one and never did.
