Speedo turns clockwise or counter clockwise?

I have a couple of extra speedometers that I need to test. I plan to insert cable into the back, then hook up to my drill motor to check if they function. Should I be turning clockwise or counter clockwise? Even during daylight savings time.

Turn the same direction that the needle moves. Almost always, that is clockwise if you are looking at the face; or CCW if you are looking at the back.

Unless one of them is from an AC Cobra

Before actually spinning it with your drill, stick a chopstick into the rear of the speedometer. You can spin the chopstick with your fingers and see immediately which direction is correct.
