Hello

Can someone let me know how to remove the speedo pinion from the overdrive on a BT7? I assumed that it would just pull out but the workshop that has my overdrive seem to have difficulty removing it.

Thanks

Myles

With credit to the unknown author I've attached the following. I never worked on an OD but I did find this info:

[The speedometer bearing & pinion were removed next. This need be removed only if one plans to disassemble the rear casting to replace the two rear bearings. The retaining bolt was removed first, and then the nut from the end of an old speedometer cable was screwed onto the speedometer bearing and a large screwdriver was then used to pry against the lip of the speedometer nut to remove the bearing (left photo below). ]
