My speedometer has just died. It had been a little erratic then it would not go below 20 mph when I was parked. Tapping it would bring the needle back to zero but now it doesn't move at all. I know that Nisonger does repair of these things but is there another place that is better? It was repaired by a local place back in 1967 but they are long gone.

Nelson,

Time for the digital Speedo Project while your's goes for R&R. $50 for just about all of the little parts and pieces gets it done and it is a fun engineering project.

Time to look for one on E-Bay.

Nisonger, Palo Alto Speedometer, Nichols Speedometer, Mo Ma, APT (gaugeguys.com)... all work on Smiths gauges. Which to use is more often a question of time, location, and budget.

For your car Nelson, definately repaired.

Palo Alto Speedo has taken good care of my gauges
