Speedo cable from 59 Bugeye

Country flag
Offline
A few years ago we transferred the 1275 and trans from our 67 Sprite into our 59 Bugeye. At the time we didn't attach the speedo cable to the trans, because I was cleaning up the instruments and dash. Then came the move from Maryland to Florida, and all projects set aside. So here's my question- should I be able to screw the cable into the gearbox as it was in the smooth case trans, or is it not that simple?

Thanks,
Larry

The speedo cable is the same from the 948, through 1098 and 1275 up to '67. From '68 on (A-series), I think they are still the same except for being a few inches longer. It should not be an issue.
