No, not the one I could ware but rather the speedometer in my Jensen Healey. I don't know where to start looking the drive cable goes from the speedo to the transmission and it doesn't seem to be broken, but I guess how would I know.

Where do I start? Thanks guys.

First, does the odometer work? If it does then the cable is not broken.
If it doesn't, suspect the cable. The cable is actually inside of the larger cable you can see. So, it could be broke and you can't see it. You should be able to remove it from behind the dash, then pull the inner cable out.
Let us know what you find...

Hi, Had the same problem with my J H.Was working, then quit. Try unhooking the cable at the trans, the use a reversable drill an hook up the cable. The run drill and check if speedo or odom works. If so, the speedo drive gear isnt turning your cable. My cables square end that goes into the trans speedo gear shaft was rounded and would not catch. Two fixes, 1/new cable, or gently hammer the cable square agian.
