TR6 Speed

My reaction time isn't what it used to be...I'll do 80 if I have the road to myself and there aren't any cross streets, intersections or driveways or deer crossings..less than that in traffic. Now, I do like curves and twistys and country roads

It was funny, I “liked” your post when I initially misread it as “attitude”, but I liked “altitude” as well!

Wow. That's fast. As above, in my daily driver I rarely exceed 70mph. Our highways here in CT are packed with heavy traffic all day - 24/7.

I prefer to take the TR4A on our beautiful two lane windy country roads up by the reservoirs. Typically driving b/t 35-55 mph. If I do go on the parkway (cars only, no trucks) I'll maintain 65 and occasionally take her up to 75 mph.

Getting excited. Spring is here and car comes out of winter storage next weekend!

On multi lane highway, I engage the OD at 65-70mph, 80 is nice cruising.
I like 90, but have to choose time & location wisely. Above that they confiscate the car!

If you ever come to Tejas, after a few hours of being passed with pickup and semi tires higher than your head...you'll speed up! I took my 80 year old Mother to Subway a few years ago. It was only a mile, and only half of that on a busy road. She spent the whole ride screaming with her feet on the dash. I have never seen anyone so scared! In her 20's she only owned tiny British sports cars. Shows how time...and people...change. In the 60's pickups had 14" wheels and semis were far and few between.

Here's another thought...

A $2,000 Triumph in 1965 would cost $28,000 in today's dollars. Try to find a sports car at that price today. I dunno, just me maybe, but I would rather spend less for a 1967 Camaro or Spitfire than the near six figures they charge today. The only new feature I would add is A/C. You can keep the rest.

We have a few toll roads in Texas with an 85mph speed limit. If you don't drive 90 you will get run down. I don't frequent them, but occasionally when I want to twist the throttle up I jump on...

On the Ks turnpike if you are just doing 80 there is a good chance of becoming "roadkill". But semi's seem to
be limited by modern GPS tracking staying close to posted limits. It's the SUV's that ya gotts to watch for!!
