My mechanic have find one piece that don't compare on the
AH spares and AHead and DW Catalogues
the only catalogue where it compare are the SC
section 2.7 n°<span style="font-weight: bold">14</span> part n 326718 BUFFER PAD

It is probably a flat piece of rubber that I haven't find when dismantle my gearbox
Have anyone notice of this piece and the build material and if possible the thickening ??

That buffer pad dampens the travel of the gear selector rods and prevents (1) over-travel and (2) them clanging into the cavity of the bellhousing.

I replaced the dry-rotted piece in my own xmsn with a pad cut from a similar thickness of rubber sheet.

Check to be sure that it isn't still glued into the recess (in the bellhousing) where the selector rods travel.

Now I know that some people have dismantled the transmission again ,
to fit this simple and insignificant piece for the trouble that they have on the gear shift
SIMPLE & INSIGNIFICANT but strictly NECESSARY

With Randy, of course. Just don't make it too thick! If it's too thick it'll interfere with the shifting.
