speed bump damage

I bottomed out on a speed bump this morning, horrible noise. Continued on to parking spot just fine, nothing seemed destroyed, exhaust sounded intact, anything I should look for damage wise?

Ouch! I hate that - that being said, all it really can be is exhaust. By all means, confirm that oil pan (and drain plug) are still there - likewise diff plug but other than that the exhaust is the lowest thing.

I suspect you're OK

My midget used to have an exhaust clamp that would frequently hit. I kept meaning to remove it and weld the joint, and I finally did after I tore the exhaust off while driving onto a pull off that had washed out.

Had been thinking about that possibility when mine is finished and on the road. Right now it is on jack stands so there is plenty of clearance.

But my TR6 can rub the rear mufflers so I have to be careful going in and out of driveways and other places. Besides the possible damage it is embarrassing.

Yes. Know the feeling. We have a number of speed bumps (they're called "sleeping policemen" in parts of England) in our neighborhood. I've "bottomed" out a number of times and in my case it is the exhaust clamp on the exhast pipe. The suggestion above to weld that section makes sense...I may have that done too.

I have to be careful to angle out of my driveway or risk grinding the muffler on that final bump into the culdesac. ugg. The perils of driving a LBC!

There are also "band" style clamps that are not as bulky.

The bend of the exhaust pipe from the header on my BE extends lower than the pipe running to the muffler. I've crushed the bend and had to patch the bend on a previous system. I went over one of these bumps in the last week a little fast and probably need to look myself.
