I think the Ford "Battlebird" T-bird racing cars can qualify as well. (in fact, the Vintage Motorsports book has a section on both the Corvette SS cars and the Battlebirds). Likewise, I sort of consider cars that did see production runs-like the Chaparral 1, the Scarab, the Cheetah, or Devins, to be "specials". I don't consider the GT 350 (brilliant car that it is) to be a Special, nor the Cobra. But the Daytona coupe does....
