Speaking of Super Chargers!

Paul;
I have seen this too. Also noticed, they will include a computer chip if you buy now.
I guess curiosity is my reason for wanting to know, but I don't want to be the Guinea Pig. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

Absolutely bogus. No way a tiny electric fan will ever increase the pressure in an auto induction system. Most of those are made from marine bilge pump motors used to clear out the air in the bilge. If anything, they are probably a hinderance to proper air flow in the engine. You get what you pay for. If a $100 bolt on gave a engine a 20% increase in power, EVERYONE would be installing them, and that's all you would hear about.

I'll bet that people who have bought them are just too embaressed to tell anyone that they don't really work. They will come up with some perceived improvement, when in actuality, it was most likely a drop in performance.

You're better off buying $100 worth of Sea Monkies. More entertainment for the buck.

There've been a couple of outfits who've claimed that their setups have a 1-1.7PSI net boost that give between 5% & 8% hp gains through the entire RPM range. But most are are only engaged when at full throttle and draw about 60amps @ 13.99volts directly off the battery. While they claim that the battery isn't affected except when under full throttle I can't help but think this'd eventually sap away the battery's life with a lot of use.

I also have to wonder about the motors they're using. The one site show these "small" motors that I would think wouldn't last all that long either with repeated use and would eventually fry over time.

But I know a couple of folks who swear by'em. Just not my cup of Joe.

Why shucks! I'm jest puttin little bitty perpellers underneath my carbernators. I'll do the same thing wifout no motors!
Yee Hah!!

Well, I wouldn't buy one, I just wanted to see if anyone has used one or know of someone who has. Personal use usually determines just how good or bad a product is.

Like I said I know a couple of folks who swear by them. But the truth is I know more folks who think they're a joke. I'm just not sure any of us can really measure "by the seat of our pants" - a 1-1.7psi boost (~5-8% hp) increase in an engine already putting out 250-300 hp.

Funny thing is they look like someone took a slot car motor and attached it to one of those "Tornados" that looks like it was made out’a old soda pop cans.

I guess it all comes down to the HP to $$$ ratio. IMHO a persone with modern vehicle would see better improvments using that money towards one of the following.

A Cat-Back exhaust, an freer flowing intake and a power programer.

I've done all three on several of my modern vehicles and feel that they're worth the investment.

The guy selling those probably bought up all of the
unsold "Tornados",put an electric motor with it,and there
you have it...... instant HP!
