How many of you have signed copies, of anything?

I have "A CONEY ISLAND OF THE MIND" signed by Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
"COMPANERO" signed by Jorge Castaneda.

Lost Moon, signed by Jim Lovell

Signed baseball cap from EAA annual fly-in with Burt Rutan's signature.

I have about 10 signed copies of my mortgage, out of about 20 copies we had to sign. Every single page, so about 500 times that I had to sign it, and then they gave us half of the copies back. WHY did I have to sign them in the first place if they were just going to give them back to me 10 minutes after I signed them?
Oh well when I pay off the balance in about 75 years I will have enough to make a small bonfire.

Years ago my grandfather worked for J. Lennon. My cousin got TWO signed albums. None for me though.

copy of 'winning is not enough' signed by the author Jackie Stewart

Yes Basil, "the" Jackie Stewart. My daughter got it for me when he did a book signing in Ayr in Scotland when she was at university there.

I have a copy of "My Two Lives" signed by Rene Dreyfus and Beverly Rae Kimes. Young folks should look him up - he was a great racing personalty way back when.

Also have a Stirling Moss autograph somewhere.

My sister gave me a baseball signed by Ted Williams. This was long after his baseball career was over - she got it when he stopped at the Chevy dealer where she worked to get a car for his sister.

I also have a copy of "Brief Glory" (a book about Air Transport Auxiliary in wartime England) signed by Yvonne MacDonald. She was a pilot in the ATA who had moved to a town near us.

Until recently I had a dinner menu signed by David Lloyd George but I sold it.

Never met Dreyfus, Williams, or George but did meet the others.

I have a photo of the record breaking " Light Alloy Car" at its record breaking run on the Jabbeke highway, signed by Norman Dewis, the Jaguar test driver. The photo used to hang in a tiny Jag dealer in DC, Jack Pry Foreign cars, and was then owned by one of his employees, my old buddy Ralph Snavely. When Ralph passed a few years back, it passed to me.I got it signed by Norman Dewis at the Jag annual meeting a couple of years ago. I had had a couple of copies made, and since he didn't have one, gave him one to keep.. I have quite a few signed copies of books also, but that is another subject altogether.

The Last Open Road, Montezuma's Ferrari, The Fabulous Trashwagen, and Toley's Ghost. the entire Last Open Road series all bought at Watkins Glen Int. and signed by Burt Levy
Also have the sleeve from my "Shotgun Willie" album that Willie Nelson signed for me while I was on his bus. (Sure smelled funny in there)
and a CD case signed by Haywood Banks .(somewhat obscure...)
Oh yea! and a special edition Watkins Glen Hot-Wheels car only given out at the Vintage fest one year signed by the designer who was there.

Several signed photos on the wall in the family room: Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn, PeeWee Reese, Mike Schmidt, Bob "Hound" Kelly (Phila Flyers), Len Sutton (Indy Racer) and a few photos I took signed by the subjects in later years; Gary Bettenhausen, Billy Vukovich, and Mario Andretti. I have books signed by authors such as Lyn St. James, Mike Schmidt, and Gordon Eliot White among others, and a die cast Indy Car signed by Montoya, and several other items accumulated over the years, including a menu from Jack Dempsey's Restaurant in NYC, signed by Jack Dempsey.

I have a bunch of poetry books, poetry CD's and music CD's that are signed, mostly by people I know and by people who aren't famous and probably never will become famous, so I don't expect to get rich from all my signatures...

Anyone ever heard of Wakefield Brewster? or Moe Clark? Thought so... :smirk:

...and don't call me Shirley.

Bill Monroe, father of bluegrass.

Our banjo picker is a relative of Bill, nephew ISTR, and tells us that he was in his teens before he realized that his uncles name wasn't Bilmon Roe.

One of my sister in laws was 46 until she found out it was "A dog eat dog world". She thought it was "A Doggie Dog World." We gave her a hard time over it, so much so, Kelly made a plaque with that on it for her Christmas gift that year. When that episode of Modern family had that on it we really let her have it.

Yes, but who doesn't?! <grin>

Even Burt admits that the books <span style="font-weight: bold">without</span> his signature are the rare ones!

Gotta love the man. I bought some advertising in <span style="text-decoration: underline">"The 200MPH Steamroller"</span> (the most recent of the Open Road series)...and even got a "Sucker/Sponsor" polo shirt. <grin

He will most likely be making an appearance and hawking his wares at the chicagoland mg clubs swap meet in Wheaton, IL on Feb 26th.

And of course we ALL have the "Last Open Road" decals on our cars. I even have a LOR license surround on my clamshell trailer.
