If I had the time/money, I'd volunteer to be a "ride-along" mechanic on Bill's retrieval mission!
 
I spent 3 great years with a '75 in the latter seventies as my daily driver, then did a repeat with a '74 as part of my old car addiction in the nineties.
I would love to own another one. Bill, because you're used to the torque of the TR6, you'll definitly require/desire the 2.0 liter. The 1.7's and 1.8's are noticeably wimpier.
