I met the guy at British Invasion one year. The story was he bought out an old barn or such and got the car, not realizing at first that the CC# showed the car was the first one. I don't remember anything special but remember him wanting to replace the rear taillight housing because the chrome was starting to put. I don't think it was actually commission #1 but the CC# was listed as the first 250 produced. Other than that it was unremarkable in the crowd of TRs.Getting back to the TR5, I have met and have seen the first TR250. It bears Comm. No. 1 for a TR250 which has other letters different in the VIN compared to a TR5. The owner lives in Plattsburg in upper New York State.
