MGB Speaking of MGBs for sale...

Locally there is a gentleman with two 1977 MGBs (convertibles) for sale. One is in fairly decent condition. He's essentially restored it, but it's a somewhat amateurish job. Both the floor pans have significant rust damage that was not repaired, and I know bondo was used. The trunk area looks very clean and rust free as does the engine bay. The interior looks good, and it has a new top and new tires. It also seems to run well.

The other car is rough, but running. It is currently stored outside under a tarp with no convertible top. The interior carpet is missing, and there is some visible rust damage to the floor pans on it as well. I was told it is actually drivable, but did not verify this.

He wants $2,500 for both cars.

What do some of you MG gurus think? Does this sound like a pretty good deal?

Sounds more than decent to me. But, I would offer something less. Simply because, if you don't ask, you won't get. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, that sounds like a good deal. His and hers MGB's. Sell the worse one for $1000 and put it towards the better of the two.
