"Clark Field". Wow. I spent time at Clark AFB in the mid-70s, it was HUGE by then.
 
Awesome. Good friend, now deceased, one of the original Tuskeegee Airmen. Photos brought back some memories. My friend, Frank Roberts, never spoke about his experience until he discovered I was taking flight lessons. Then and only then did he share. Crimeys - lots of memories provoked.
 
Thanks for those. There's a B-17 at my local small airport right now, just here for a couple days. Made sure to drive by the airport on the way into work this morning.
 
Might be the same one that was here a couple weekends ago. Was cloudy then so the flights were lower than normal. My house was under the cirle flightpath they were doing, nothing like hearing that rumble and seeing it go by overhead.

I have the highest respect for those guys who not only proved many times how good they were, how dedicated they were to their country, but doing all they did while carrying such a heave burden on their shoulders as many people were trying to put them down because of their color. At one time they were the best of the best, bar none! The air crews lives they saved will attest to that! May those that are gone, rest in peace and those who are still with us continue to receive the respect they so rightly deserve. PJ

Aint a whole lot of them around still. Confederate Air Force? They were here a few years ago with (IIRC) the last flying B-29.
 
I was looking out my classroom window at the college today and sitting in the field across the road is an A-10A Thunderbolt next to a Mig-21. Those were the ones I could see easily. around behind the other building there is an F-14ATomcat, an A-7D Corsair II and a Douglass B-26B Invader. I gotta take my camera next week.
It's the new home of the Wings Of Eagles museum. I'm liking it so far.
