I know this question has been ask a thousand times, but I'm knew to the MG world, I have done a search but no one seems to have the same answer, and the search takes you back ten years or so. I have a 1952 MGTD the number on the head is 22952 and from what I have read it takes a 1/2 " reach, I would like to use NGK plugs
but a lot of the plugs I hear to use have a 3/4 " reach.

The plugs that are in the car are champion plugs [1/2 " reach] and were in it when I bought the car and they soot up pretty fast, I know the engine is running very rich, I have tried to adjust the best I can, and there is a long wait to get it into the shop. the car runs ok, just a rough idle. I have had good luck with NGK plugs in my VW bugs.

Can someone here tell me what would be a good NGK plug to use ? I did read that a NGK B6Hs 1/2 reach would be a good one ??
Maybe the plugs you have had good luck with, Thanks for any advice. Louis.

I used the same NGK plugs for my 1953 TD as Grantura recommends.

But your sooting up problem may related to improper electrode gap, weak spark, and/or carb mixture being too rich - regardless of plug you use.
