I'm up for a tune-up in the next couple of weeks and need to buy some spark plugs for my '62 BT-7. Over the years I've probably used most of the major brands (Champion, NGK, AC). I currently use Bosch Platinums. Frankly I can't say that I've ever noticed a performance difference with various plugs. Nonetheless, has anyone had any noticeable improvements in performance, or perhaps negative experiences with a particular brand? I'm inclined to stick with Bosch but was mulling over the issue and wanted some input, really just curious. Opinions? Thanks,

Hi 62BT7, IMOP the Bosch Platinum plug is one of the best all around plugs to use. I use the WRDP7 plug and if you use the same they are available on E-bay for ~ $1.25 ea. These are the original Bosch parts. I think the next issue will come from china along with the NGK brand.--Fwiw--Keoke

I chose to go with the NGK BP6ES but longevity is not realy a concern for me. NGK and Denso both list platinum and iridium plugs for our application and I would be interested if others that used these plugs might comment on any increase or decrease in performance as well.

Use which ever plug you like, but the references contradict their statements. I one breath it is stated that a Platinum electrode will decrease the energy transfer, then in another statement the pointed shape of the platinum NGK will enhance the energy transfer. I wonder who they think pioneered the very small pointed platinum spark plug electrode? which causes energy density to be the highest.??---Fwiw--Keoke-?

My number one choice as well.

I've tried BP5ES & BP7ES, but the the #6 always gave the best (plug cut) readings with my setup.
