Might possibly make a very small difference for the first few milliseconds after you jam on the brakes; but none at all once the pedal/fluid quits moving.

I believe the PDWA was only found on US models anyway (required by US law); which is another argument for the restriction being accidental rather than deliberate.

I replaced the whole unit on my TR250 with a new later model version. Not cheap. Even Apple would not do a rebuild. Alternatively you could just plug the switch hole and run without it. This unit is intended to signal a failure in one of the break circuits, but you should notice this through the pedal before the idiot light would tell you.

Thanks everyone for all the great feedback and discussion in this thread.

I have decided to plug the switch hole for the shortterm (thanks for the idea, Rob!) I haven't had the PDWA connected since I've owned the car, so I'm not feeling too bad.

Does anyone know if there is a thread sealant that can be used in brake fluid? I am just putting a bolt in the hole, with a spacer to set the depth and allow me to tighten it a bit. (It's 3/8"-24, by the way.) Teflon tape??
