I did a search for "lace on steering wheel cover" on google, without the results I desired, then tried the same search at amazon.com. Further down the page are Gray and Black ones.

I've used wheelskins for years on many cars. One piece and
nice leather. Stitching them on is a bit time consuming and tedious but worth the effort.

I have a Sport Grip like the one Bill put a link to.
I have had Sport Grip wheel covers on Sprites since my Dad put one on his 67 Sprite back in 1969.
They fit, look good, and are "period correct"
I was extremely happy to find a green one for my green 67 Sprite which matched the one my Dad put on his 67 Sprite back in the day. And even after 40 years on some one's shelf, it still fit perfect, even the lace was fine.

The cover on your steering wheel looks great, David. I was thinking of putting on a leather one, but I also wondered if there was one that would give a little bulk to the steering wheel without making it rub on my legs down below. I will check out all of your leads when I get home. Thanks everyone.
