Source for BN4 2nd Gear

I am rebuilding the side shift 4 speed gearbox of my 57 BN4. 40 years ago the oil was drained and it sat but unfortunately a little water creeped in. Most of the unit is fine but my 2nd gear is chewed up by rust. It doesn't appear that this gear is available from the usual sources (AHSpares and Moss). Does anybody have a used one in a box somewhere?

Thank you!

Chris

Well, if you can't find a spare don't worry, you can have it made to exact duplicate by any company that makes gears such as Arrow gear here in Illionis (Downers Grove IL.) they make gears for the military, race cars nationwide and many others. They will need your sample to copy it. Also, many good machine shops can hob the teeth in a Bridgeport mill after the lathe work is done, then send it out for heat treatment. They can get the Rockwell from your original gear. I have done this as a machinist many times. Retired now.

Thanks Bob. I have an email into Michael. Wish me luck. A used gear would be ideal since they don't typically wear and I'm always trying to save money when possible.

Well :

Give Healey Surgeons a call too:encouragement:

It appears that Michael Salter has a used one for $175 + shipping. That was more than I was expecting to pay but it's the only option I know of. Anyway, thanks for the help guys!

That is a fair price------:encouragement:

Amazingly enough right after posting this reply and before I got back to Michael I got an email offering me a pristine gear for $100. Leo from https://www.britishcarpartsbyleo.com seems to have great prices and a ton of parts. He's VERY knowledgable as well. Just thought I'd pass that recommendation along.
