Hello all just bought my 1st Triumph today! It's a 69 TR6, that looks to be mostly stock. I've been tinkering with it a bit and I have a few questions. The choke works fine but just won't stay in place? There's a loose vacuum line that ties into the distributor advance where does it connect? Also where is the idle idle adjustment on the Stomberg crabs? I've attached pictures.

The choke knob is a twist and lock..set the amount you want, twist the knob on the dash until it locks in that position.
Those are not the version of carbs that came on a 69 TR6.
That little vacuum tube probably will have a home on the bottom of the rear carb in that case.
Here's a picture of what to look for and also another picture showing the idle speed (throttle stop)adjustment screw..it's vertical with a spring surrounding it

Thank you poolboy, I have a single diaphragm on my car, which according to this link > Emission Control; Vacuum System < isn't correct, I wonder what else is?

By 'single diaphragm' I guess you mean a vacuum modules (aka 'can' ) on the distributor ?
If it's just one then it would be a RETARD module that depends upon vacuum from the rear carb's nipple that I pointed out in the photo I posted.
What else..well the Exhaust and the Intake manifolds on the engine are post 71
..hopefully the Intake manifold isn't mounted on a pre 72 head

The intake manifold itself is post '69. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire engine was switched out. Plus, it appears there's a dual exhaust downpipe, so the exhaust manifold would also be post '69. Sorry Poolboy, just saw your message above..

There should be a boss on the back side of the upper block, left/driver side. Facing up and on plane with the head surface.

Without measuring, those intake ports look to be the close set ones. I just finished an engine rebuild on my 69 and ran into a cracked head and in all my excitement in finding a replacement locally I didn't think to compare to my old head. Long story short I had to get a later model intake to match my newly rebuilt head and lose my Weber downdrafts due to interference with the inner fender well. Well back to my Strombergs and someone will get a great deal if it's a set of Weber's they're looking for. Oh and the Moss catalog has some nice schematics covering vacuum lines.
