Normally, seeing somebody toting heavy firepower on an LA freeway and pointing your way as you drive is a bad thing. But last night it was really cool.

So I'm driving on the 110 freeway and I look up and find myself staring down the barrel, well, three barrels, of a rotary cannon.

Seeing helicopters flying around the LA freeway system is nothing unusual, mostly police and news if they're circling around the freeway with some general aviation or fire fighting aircraft heading this way or that. And there is the occasional military flight going wherever.

But what you don't see every day is a Marine Corp Super Cobra gunship following the freeway just a couple hundred feet off the deck and coming straight at you, looking like it's on a gun run and you're the guest of honor.

It was cool.

I've seen them flying plenty of times, but never had the bad-guys' view before.

Odd to see him huggiuing the road like that. Maybe he was navigating with a AAA map.

We get a lot of blackhawk fly overs here in Fletcher in the middle of the night. Sill needs their pilots to train in night flying, and Lawton is too bright so they buzz the little rural towns. Nothing more annoying than being woken up at 0400 by a helo 200 ft. off the deck going over your house.
