Hello. Not really a new member, but haven't been here since 2005 when I started a restoration on my Sunbeam Tiger (MK1a; #000975). Just finished the restoration, save for having to rebuild the zero mile rebuilt Autolite 2100 after the last guy apparently messed up.

Car has all original tags and plates and restored to stock black with red int. livery and with following stock options: LAT hood (not pictured); LAT shocks; LAT pie mags; LAT exhaust. Paint was by Restoration Autotech, chrome by "The Bumper Guy, and interior by Pro Prep.

Pic is here and the top is now on and interior installed. Hope to get to know y'all better and post more often. Thanks for reading.

Very nice - Bad Kitty, indeed!

What rims are those? Don't believe I've seen them before.

Hopefully, you can post over on the Sunbeam side and wake those guys up!

Well, glad you could stop in. Hope it won't be another 7 years till the next time

Dear Mickey:

Thank you. The wheels are all alloy and apparently milled from a rough casting. The grey is not paint, but the unmilled, unpolished rough casting. The silver is where the wheels were milled, and a close look shows the mill cuts.

Story, as conveyed to me, is that there were only about 100 sets cast and completed back in 1966. Of these, supposedly only four complete sets exist because they were manufactured with no center hole. Thus, tire changes were either by tire iron or very rare (for the time) rim grabbing hydraulic changers with no center post. Thus, most sets had the center caps sawn off.

There is actually a cast then milled image of a tiger's head in the center. These are also only 13", and with size and tiger head, there is no call for cross-mark use.

A better look appears here:

VERY NICE!

Welcome back! :savewave:
