When its a nice sunnny day with the top down. I give a signal and turn or change lanes and then I forget to cut the blinker off because the signal light does not show up that well during the day and the signal blinker is under the hood and so I don't hear anything. So, I drive with the blinker on and look like a real mule, plus it might cause an accident. I want to get some kind of noise maker to remind me but not a beeper, something more tolerant on the ears.
 
Happens to all of us as we age.

Take a teenager along with you, they have a great way of telling you that you are senile and shouldn't be driving...
(go ahead, ask me how I know) :wink:

I bought an "extra loud" flasher from JC witless and it was actually quieter than the one already in my car.

Good luck.
 
Relocating the flasher unit behind the dash or in the radio console can help. Otherwise a HD unit from a trailer shop may be louder.
 
Or some kind of digital voice that says (over & over):

"Your Blinker Is On... Your Blinker Is On... Your Blinker Is On..."

Kind of like the teenager, without the contemptuous stares. :wink:
 
The big green indicator (with a nice bright bulb)on a BE right between the tach and the speedo seems to work so much better than those itty-bitty "arrow" lights for that!!!
 
Hehe, in the Ugly Bug I stuck a superbright LED there in an LED holder. It is blinding in the dark. I'll be needing to change it for safety, but in the mean time I do not see myself forgetting the turn signal.
 
Do the same thing all the time Kim.
I try to keep my finger on the switch lever,so that it clicks off when I straighten up.Don't always remember though. :rolleyes:
When my wife is with me,she always says-- "Your blinker is on." Helps the situation,but,bruises the ego. :devilgrin:

Down here in Johannesburg

I have the same problem and the solution to the problem is to open up the steering wheel and replace the plastic part that returns the indicator to the straight position. Mine is old flexible and worn, a new part should fix the issue.
 
My cut off works ok, but its when you make a slight turn or lane change that it does not work automatically and I forget. I wish all cars had what my old Kawasaki motorcyle had. It automatically cut the blinker off after the bike rolled 150 feet.
 
My midget's right turn signal will click off after a turn, the left one doesn't. Drove home today signaling left turn for about three miles. Didn't realize it until I went to signal I was turning into my driveway. oops.
 
I put a small red light between the right hand and left hand circuits and have the bulb showing on the dash, it just tells me that a side is flashing and to check. Cheap, easy and works.

I did the radio shack buzzer thing across the flasher relay..... works like a charm. My flasher is located just above the glove box so I usually hear it.
