Time for new tires (actually first time since 1985).

Came across this tire at Universal Vintage Tire in Hershey, PA. see https://www.universaltire.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=25027&category_id=325

BF Goodrich 205/70R15 Poly/Steel
BFG-Wide-Tread-Redline.jpg

I had considered Coker but Hershey is only an hour's drive and no shipping charge. I would be mounting these on my American Racing Silverstones - 15 x 5.5in.

Question: Any knowledge base or comments for this tire. It is made by an independent for BF Goodrich and is available in 205/70R15. $165 each mounted and balanced.

Thanks,

Frank

Hi,

I don't know if this helps any but the tread pattern looks to be the same as the tires that I have, BFG Radial T/A.

Other than that I can't really say anything about these specific tires, they could be of a different rubber compound from mine.

Where and did you get the Siverstones from and how much?

I found the wheels many years ago, I think 1984, while on a business trip in Virginia. I actually had to buy a parts car to get the wheels. Paid $800 for a TR-4 with these wheels, then sold the engine and trans and some other bits for a total of $400. So, I guess the wheels cost me approx. $100 each net. Back in the good old days they could be had for about $45 ea. new. I'll never understand why AR ever stopped production. IMHO, they would sell like hot cakes if they were made today.
