Soring over Mars...

If you look very closely you can see Dejah Thoris and John. in my youth I had many plans to steal Dejah away, but they never worked out......

Me too, Larry. Read Burroughs' stuff and was transported for days.
 
I just rediscovered Burroughs' Mars novels on my kindle.There are more of them than I remember.
 
I reread the Mars books a few years ago, and immediately started looking for the Pellucidor stories. Maybe it's a second childhood, but it sure is fun! When i was about 10 I found The Chessmen of Mars in the attic, stayed up all night reading it, and I was hooked from then on. Burroughs led to Heinlein to Asimov and Bradbury, Arthur C, the list just goes on and on!
