Basil, there must be a fix for the speed of this site. It is getting worse rather than better.

Sometimes, a lot, it takes almost a minute to bring up a page. I know you call and have them reboot, that's not the answer. Your provider has a problem with his hardware plain and simple. It needs to get fixed or I would strongly suggest a new provider whome can provide.

If cost is an issure put a paypal link that we can donate to. I know it is your site but we feel like it is ours as well and would be pleased to help out as you have helped us out by hosting the BCF.

I agree with much of what Jack has suggested. I particulary think that it is a fine idea to have a voluntary donation link. I enjoy this site and the forum immensely and, like many others, would be more than willing to offer a stipend for the service to offset any burden on you..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

I am painfully aware of the problem. My provider is in th eprocess of setting me up on a completely new server with a new and updated OS and MySQL. He is "fairly certain" that this will cure most of the problems. In the meantime, please bear with us.

Well, I could be spending time with the wife...

My wife is happy when I'm on the forum. When I try to talk about MGB technical things her eyes glaze over. She's much happier when her eyes aren't glazed. (and so am I) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif
