Son's 240 is looking pretty good

Volvo 240

I never imagined I would have to admit this being a wedge type of guy but I really like my son's 240, The handling is crisp, (it does need a turbo at least for my taste), roomy, realitively cheap to work on, comfy, heated seats, rear wheel drive. The parts are some what interchangable with the other Volvos (the rims are off a 760)

So far we swap out the struts and shocks, put on some viper silver metalic and viper blue metallic, and some small cosmetic issues. I like the fact it has the brake calipers you do not have to remove to change teh brake pads (I thought GM was ingenous when I found this on my 2006 Hummer and Volvo has been doing this since at least 1989).

It is much more bold of a paint job than I expected from him, being as conservative as he is I expected white or silver or gray.

When I got my Hummer I thought that that was the greatest innovation I had seen in years, now I realize it is 50 year old tech. that GM is just now finding. Really a shame, the Hummer and Volvo are the same with the two retaining pins

MGB's had them from the beginning.

The 240 brake calipers, along with the double 3-point braking system using 4 piston calipers utilizing both brake circuits, came out first on the Amazon in 68. The wheel bolt pattern was however different pre-144 series.

The 240 Turbo is available (at least here). There's a complete motor with turbo at my garage right now taken out of a station wagon with too much rust.

The color combination looks great! Beltline is a perfect break that begs for two-tone treatment, and those colors suit the car.

Nice work!
