:eeek: Never let a new beetle and a chrome bumper B drink together unsupervised.

"The Roadster is back as an SUV"....more like the Titanic is back as a car...

Designed by folks who thought the Pontiac Aztec was a good idea...

And who thought this was a good idea?

Probably the same creative and marketing geniuses that designed the Porsche Cayenne......the two of these could comiserate together. Neither one is representative of the roots they came from.

Maybe the only good thing is that the new model will help increase the value of the originals.

To my eye it seems vaguely like the newer 'minis'?

Just to prove some of us are odder than others, I quite like it. I shouldn't think we will see this on sale here any time soon.

Stuart.

To me it looks like a distorted cartoon version of an RV8. There are hints of the MGB & RV8 in the grille, door handles, quarter-windows, and even the windshield frame - but that's a stretch. Stretching my imagination it looks like some demented soul crossed a smart-car with an RV8. Unfortunately the transformation kept all the ugliness of the former and not enough of the latter.

Not my thing, but I'm noticing a lot of "modern" isn't my thing these days. Every time the 2012 Kia Optima ad runs (which isn't a bad looking car) I'm stopped cold with the "feature" of an electronic parking brake. I can't grasp why anyone would want that (except from an engineering standpoint), nevermind think it's a feature worth advertising on TV.

My last trip to the UK the rental was a Vauxhall. I swear it took me 20 minutes trying to figure out how that darn electronic e-brake worked. Why would they do that? It has to exponentially increase the failure points. Not to mention if the battery goes flat, you can not push the car if it was on, and you cant set it if it was off. Some things really puzzle me.
