Although I do need to get an extension on my shed this weekend to store all that extra outdooe furniture we picked up this year. May not be a productive weekend car wise.

Limited in prep,

internally balanced, Flat top Pistons, Lightened / Balanced Flywheel. Valve Job, Pinned thrust bearing, oil feed to rockers, elec ign. oil cooler, elec fan. Bout it. Would like to take shave the head a bit more but that was a thought after assembled and ran. Hopefully the intake and HS4 will be done in a week or so, and it'll be running again. I expect to run this for time trials next season before I make any changes.

Could you explain the "pinned" thrust bearing. I know that is a weak point of the 1500 but didn't know there was a fix.

Scott:

Don't be too worried about being "pure street stock" in the EMRA ST-7 small bore class. As long as everyone is having a good time and the racing is fun and close, we don't get too excited about the nitty-gritty of rules.
I like to think that we're like the SCCA in 1955 or so. It's all about having fun and nobody is that concerned about winning a $5 bowling trophy.
The drivers in the ST-7 class are the only ones who might protest and I know we won't.
One of our ST Sprite has an aluminum flywheel and another has a coil-over rear. Both unapproved. And my car has an unapproved carb.

A mild street cam could be considered "Euro-spec", which is close enough to stock for me and most of the other small bore guys.

I know that you will be new to this stuff, so the most important thing is to get the driving skills worked out first. Plus, since it's a new car, get all the car stuff de-bugged. A trick cam won't make much difference at first.

After a while, you may start kicking our butts! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

*Then* we may suggest that you move up in class. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I know that for '08, me, Pete, Bruce and Mike are looking forward to racing with you in ST-7.
