Some Progress With Midgie

Today Midgie had her windshield bolted back on. What a pain that was! My wife helped bolt it up as I pushed down and back to get the holes lined up. Looks pretty good now.

Still sorting out electrical issues. The heater fan works now. All turn signals, and hazard indicators work. No brake lights, which is odd as I had those earlier. I noticed there's a small leg of the wiring harness in the engine bay that has three wires to it. One's green, next green/brown, and the last is yellow/orange. Green is hot all the time. They each have a bullet connector. Are the green ones suppose to hook up to the reverse switch? If they are I guess I'm going to have to make up a small harness to reach the switch.

Took the pipe bending tool and worked on the right front brake line. That was easy. Wish the one going across the crossmember, and the one heading to the back of the car were that easy.

I tried bolting the seats in with the new rails. I got the front studs through the holes in the floor board. There's something wrong with the seats though. Pushing the seat back lever to bring it forward did nothing...for either seat. The lever moves a little bit, but I can't get the seat back to go forward or backward. Any ideas why? The main issue is I can't access the holes on the back of the rail to bolt that side in.

Sounds good,

Green is hot, I don't have a midge here to check.

Seat may need some PB where the release pivots, very common to get rusty down there.

Wifes help on windshield is great, it is a pain with a new seal.

I was able to take some WD40 and spray the pivots, but it took a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet on the lever to get them to work loose.

Yesterday afternoon/night/midnight I worked on the front left brake line. I decided to route it to the backside of the crossmember. It was really tricky to get it to bend vertically down the side of the crossmember, then across, and back up on the left side. If anyone attempt this, do it during an engine rebuild with the motor out. With a set of clips to attach it I'll be set. Looking at how difficult this line was I believe bending the one to the back of the car will be much easier!

I still haven't figured out what those three wires are for yet. How/where does the wiring come in to the reverse switch to everyone else's car? Does it come to the switch via the harness inside the cockpit some how, or from this small pigtail in the engine bay?
