Got a call from my brother-in-law last night. He just bought a '71 Spitfire and he was HAPPY about it! Having owned a TR3 and another Spit, he still wanted another. After those two, he should have been well versed in the, shall we say, "quirks" of LBC's, the fickleness of Lucas "lighting" and the false sense of security we get when they actually sound like they're running right. Go figure.

Rolland, if you're reading this, congratulations on your new Spit. Now get off the computer and go fix something!

My daughter is pretty set on a TR8 for her car when she starts driving but I feel she will start with something full sized. But we went to look at a GT6 which would have be a fun little car for her to work on and learn to drive. She would have nothing to do with it. I guess I will take my son to look at it and see if he is interested.

Just keep adopting Kids until you find one that does like it. Then you know you have a sane child who can cope with life's little issues in later years.

LBC induced frustration and aggravation as part of the maturation process? Perseverance in the face of Lucas electrics?

Can all this make marriage and children seem simple and a dawdle by comparison? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Please, my daughter can trouble shoot my LBC as well as I can. She spent lots of time when little being the key turner and asking questions. She does not like to get her hands dirty but she will one day be able to direct her boyfriend/husband to fix the car. My son, well he can start the car, and he has learned how to drive a 5 speed and will be able to drive one well by the time he turns 16
