I remember hearing this song playing often in the bar at a "Best Western" motel I used to work at when I was in Junior High school. I was a bus boy/ Dish Washer earning a whopping $1.25 / hour! The Motel was just east of Denver off I-70.

Today is indeed nostalgia day. I remember dancing to that at the the Hunt Club located in the downstair area of the Barre Guest House in Barre MA and at the Tavern located in the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield MA. Even remember the group that played there - Bill Faning Trio.

And in '69, I was working at Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Baton Rouge while at LSU, bussing tables as well as dishing out their 28 flavors of ice cream.


The restaurant was "attached" to the motel on Airline Hwy. Dad was the motel manager, and we lived onsite. I had my own room next to the swimming pool. Nice digs for a college freshman and sophomore!

Great memory - though this is my version

 
1969, first year of college, first MGB. Worked part-time in a family owned camera store and was a "stringer" photographer with the local newspaper, covering high school ball games, spot news assignments and the occasional fire/crash.
