TR2/3/3A Some Folks ...

Found a 56 TR3 last week in TX last week for sale. Price was decent. Got pictures, they looked good. Called the guy Sat. Morning and made the deal. He asked for me to send him a $500 check for deposit. I asked him to email his address and I would have a check to him on Monday. Saturday night I get an email from him, he sold the car to someone locally. He said " I hope your not mad at me". Some Folks do business a little different!

Could be worse. I once towed a trailer all the way to Minnesota; only to discover that the seller had flat-out lied about the condition, and carefully taken the photographs to hide the extent of the tinworm. Never did get back my deposit, either.

If he's that unscrupulous, you're probably better off. There's no telling what would have shown up at your door!

Hi Marv,

You probably saved yourself $500.00.

Happy Hunting,

Russ

I have been on the way to get a car after arranging a car dolly, and driving half way there(1 hour drive), to have the guy call and say he sold it to a friend. Some people just do not stick to their word. Was a beautiful condition red 88 BMW 325is 5 speed for $2800.

Haven't been involved with buying and selling for awhile but my take on that type of stuff is that it was probably just as well for me that the deal flopped. It hurts at the time but, ah well besides, there may be another better deal lurking around the corner.

Cheers, Tinkerman

Always better to walk away from a great deal than into a lousy one.

P.S. Nice Jaguar!
