Some banter of yesterdays drive to find a slinky.

I had the fun task of locating a new steel slinky yesterday with the thirteen year old. The slinky looked like some twisted ball of wire and of course I got the fifth as to how it got that way. I started up the 3 and was told we were on a strict time schedule to return home before his older brother got home from work and realizes what was done to his Christmas present. After four unsuccessful tries the spare was finally located. The 3 once again got us to our location and back again. In record time I might add. Although, this required a little high speed state road driving which got the adrenalin flowing. And Shawn, keep your snow there would ya! I'm having a great winter so far.

Great pictures Harry, you lucky man. My TR is still in bits waiting for Moss to come up with a new radiator top hose. If it is good weather next weekend I bet your daughter will discover her slinky all tied up again!

Mr. Slinky behaving as expected and not yet tied up (darn). I had fond memories of replacing that top hose with the apron on the first time. More or less had to cut the original off. It was a lot easier with the apron off the second time. Have fun!

Unfortunately, I'm not getting any improvements to the 3 done this winter but I sure am having a blast driving around. So much to do but hate to lay it up since the weathers been good.

As for going into Waterbury I usually make all kinds of new friends when picking up the oldest at U-Conn Waterbury downtown. Some real interesting characters there at that!

Those are great pictures. I hope you don't have to find another Slinky anytime soon. Ironically, my 10 year old asked for one this Christmas. I hadn't seen one in years.

I passed on the famous (infamous?) quote to him:
"Some people are like Slinkies, they aren't good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs."

Merry Christmas and may the weather continue to be good enough for you to enjoy your 3.

Yes Harry, I want to replace the hose while the front is off. It is a bit frustrating having to wait to put the radiator back in, expecially when the old hose looked OK. It has been there for more than 15 years, so I thought it deserved to be retired.
I just phoned Moss in London and they are not expecting any more hoses until the 22nd February, so I cancelled the order and one is on its way from Rimmer Brothers. Hopefully should get the TR back together next weekend if I am not told that I have other jobs to do. I want to repaint the horns and generally clean up under the bonnet while I am at it.
I could have bought a silicone hose for ÂŁ24 ($45) but I thought that rubber would be fine at that price!
