Software scheduling app?

I try to schedule about 100 volunteers for daily activities on farms and gardens. Basically a 24 hour schedule, seven days a week - with frequent changes.

I use Excel. Constant changes drive me nuts. I can post the revised worksheet on the website to share with staff, but have to go back to the office to update it.

Does anyone know a "staff scheduling" software package that allows hour by hour scheduling for 100+ staff, and can be shared -and updated - in real-time on wireless tablets (mac and pc)?

Thanks.
Tom

Not exactly scheduling alone, but versatile: Sugar CRM.

I googled "volunteer scheduling software packages nonprofits" and had several hits that look like what you want. Some low-activity (i.e. may be useless) open source packages and a few for a very low cost. The web based ones should work on tablets. Most were oriented towards churches but stated they are general use.

I have a little more time to think about the problem now.

You have 100 people you need to schedule.
You need the solution to be web accessible.
You need it to be accessible from multiple platforms (e.g. Tablet).

Do you need reporting? Live updates to mobile devices? Reminders sent to volunteers?

We can take this to email if you want.
